ALJOMAIH AUTOMOTIVE ACHIEVED INTERNATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD "GRANDMASTERS" FROM GENERAL MOTORS FOR THE FIFTH TIME

  • Customer satisfaction and service factors amongst judging criteria
  • Dealers introduced to new General Motors products and technology

Aljomaih Automotive Company, the largest dealer for General Motors in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, achieved “Grandmasters” award from General Motors most prestigious award, for the second year in a row, after having been achieved for three consecutive years from 2011 to 2013, based on customer satisfaction and service as some of the judging criteria. The award was received by Sheikh Ibrahim Aljomaih, CEO of Aljomaih Automotive Company, in a special event that held for this purpose in New York City in the USA.

Now in its 14th year, the “Grandmasters” program was created to reward the best dealers in the General Motors International region for their excellence. Winners were selected based on customer satisfaction, service, vehicle and parts sales, and facility standards. They were judged on both the quantity and the quality of their operations.

Commenting on winning of this prestigious award, Sheikh Waleed Aljomaih, the COO of Aljomaih Automotive Company, commented as saying: "Winning of this remarkable award for the second time in a row, and five years ago, confirms our superiority in all our policies in terms of development, marketing, sales and after sales services, as well as upgrading of our workers knowledge and skills, improve the working environment and continuously updating all communication, warehousing and service systems. I dedicate this award to all our employees, customers and distributors - our success partners, and urge them to keep up the good work to maintain this notable level of success".

Speaking at the awards dinner, President and Managing Director of General Motors Africa & Middle East, Mario A. Spangenberg said, “Congratulations to all of our dealers. You have set a great example for your fellow dealers, and we are proud to have each of you as a partner”.

This year’s participants included the highest-performing dealers from the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Southeast Asia. During the New York “Grandmasters” event, they engaged in a series of business meetings and team-building activities.

GM Executive Vice President and President of GM International Stefan Jacoby said, “Over the past year, our dealers have done an outstanding job putting the customer at the center and strengthening their commitment to what we call our ‘I Care Culture’. They have been a critical part of our team”.

This year’s Grandmasters program began on May 7 at Cadillac House, the new home of GM’s American luxury brand in the heart of New York City. Getting down to business, the “Grandmasters” received a company update from Jacoby. GM International Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales Mike Devereux talked about the exciting new technologies coming to dealers’ showrooms, while highlighting the ongoing importance of customer care.

A special speaker was GM Vice President of Global Design Mike Simcoe, who came from Detroit to show the dealers the cutting-edge Chevrolet Bolt EV, new Chevrolet Cruze, GMC Terrain and new Chevrolet Traverse. Simcoe also introduced Maven, GM’s flexible mobility platform that is offering multiple car-sharing products for consumers and businesses.

During tech talks, dealers learnt more about Google and Facebook, and the growing connection between the automotive industry and global technology companies.
